Join immigrant community members, allies, and advocates from across Connecticut for CT 50501’s Virtual Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Immigrant Rights on Zoom August 7.

This forum is an opportunity for candidates seeking to be our next Governor to answer directly to the communities most impacted by their decisions. Together, we’ll hear where candidates stand on the policies that shape the safety, dignity, and future of immigrant families in Connecticut—including the Trust Act, collaboration between ICE and local law enforcement, protections for sensitive locations, and the enforcement and accountability of existing immigrant protections.

The conversation will begin with a brief presentation that provides the context behind these issues, explains what current state laws do—and don’t—protect, and outlines the specific policy changes our communities are demanding. By establishing this shared understanding, we’ll ensure candidates respond with concrete proposals and commitments, not vague statements of support. The questions posed to candidates will be rooted in the experiences and priorities of directly impacted immigrant communities, ensuring that the people most affected are shaping the conversation.

Register today and let’s ensure that the voices of immigrant families are at the center of Connecticut’s future.
